      Alex Ovechkin will be a game-time decision Thursday vs. New Jersey (upper-body).

      Ovechkin missed the Capitals' previous three games due to an upper-body injury and will be a game-time decision Thursday vs. New Jersey. The 37-year-old is day-to-day with the injury and has 42 goals, 32 assists, 290 SOG and a -14 plus/minus through 72 games played this season prior to his injury.

      Kuemper will start Thursday vs. NJD.

      Kuemper allowed two goals on 40 shots (.950 SV%) in his previous start to snap a five-game losing drought as he beat the New York Islanders. The 32-year-old has had an up-and-down first season in Washington, with his 22-26-6 record, 2.83 GAA and .910 SV%. He will take on the New Jersey Devils, who have won three of their last four games and are fifth in the NHL in goals (3.51).

      Charlie Lindgren is expected to be unavailable for the Capitals Thursday (undisclosed).

      Lindgren was forced to leave his previous start after 45:21 TOI due to an undisclosed injury and is expected to be out for the Capitals' finale Thursday. The 29-year-old had just watched his save percentage drop below .900 for the first time all season and will likely end the year with a 13-11-3 record, 3.05 GAA and .899 SV%.

      Henrik Borgstrom has been recalled from Hershey (AHL) and will make his Capitals debut Tuesday.

      Borgstrom had eight goals, 13 assists, 10 PIMs and a -4 plus/minus through 54 games with Hershey (AHL) this season and has been called up to Washington to make his Capitals debut Tuesday. The 25-year-old has previously played in 110 NHL games, picking up 13 goals, 13 assists, and 104 SOG.

      Dowd (undisclosed) will not play Monday vs. the Islanders.

      Dowd has 13 goals, 12 assists, 62 SOG, 26 PIMs and a +6 plus/minus through 65 games played this season but will not play Monday vs. the New York Islanders due to an undisclosed injury. The 32-year-old is considered day-to-day until there are more updates on the centreman.

      Kuemper will start Monday vs. the Islanders.

      Kuemper allowed five goals on 31 shots (.839 SV%) for his fifth-straight loss as he was handed the defeat by the Montreal Canadiens in his previous start. The 32-year-old has had a decent first season in Washington with little help around him, with his 21-26-6 record, 2.84 GAA and .909 SV%. He takes on the New York Islanders, who have won two straight games while in a battle for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
