      Matthew Knies (concussion) is improving but will be out for Game 5 on Friday.

      Knies has been out since Game 2 due to a concussion and although he is improving significantly according to head coach Sheldon Keefe, he will be out again for Game 5 vs. Florida. The 20-year-old is enjoying a strong first career playoffs, picking up a goal, three assists, seven SOG, four PIMs and a +3 plus/minus through seven games prior to his injury.

      Joseph Woll will start Game 5 on Friday vs. Florida.

      Woll was sensational in his first career playoff start in Game 4, stopping 24 of 25 shots (.960 SV%) as he led Toronto to their first win in the series as they escaped a sweep with a 2-1 win over Florida. The 24-year-old rookie has been solid during his short stint in the playoffs, with his 1-1-0 record, 2.45 GAA and .902 SV%. He will hope to keep the Maple Leafs' season alive as they take on the Florida Panthers in Game 5, who led the NHL in shots per game (36.8) during the regular season.

      Ilya Samsonov (undisclosed) is out for Game 4; considered day-to-day.

      Samsonov was taken out of Game 3 after 20:37 TOI due to an undisclosed injury and will be out for Game 4. The 26-year-old is considered day-to-day and will be replaced by Joseph Woll as the Maple Leafs' starter. He will hope Toronto is able to stay alive beyond Game 4 so that he can work to improve his 4-4-0 record, 3.13 GAA and .898 SV%.

      Joseph Woll will start Game 4 vs. Florida.

      Woll allowed three goals on 21 shots (.857 SV%) as he lost in overtime to Florida in Game 3 after filling in early in the second period for an injury Ilya Samsonov. The 24-year-old has not seen much action in the 2022-23 playoffs so far, posting a 0-1-0 record, .846 SV% and 3.85 GAA. He will hope to keep the Maple Leafs' season alive as they take on Florida on the road, who led the NHL in shots on goal per game (36.8) during the regular season.

      Sam Lafferty will draw back into the Maple Leafs' lineup for Game 2.

      Lafferty has been a healthy scratch for Toronto's previous two playoff games but will draw back into the lineup Thursday for Game 2 as he replaces Zach Ashton-Reese. The 28-year-old has an assist, five SOG, two PIMs and a -3 plus/minus through fives games so far in the playoffs.

      Erik Gustafsson will be a healthy scratch for Game 1 vs. Florida.

      Gustafsson made his playoff debut in Game 7 vs. Tampa Bay as the Maple Leafs dressed seven defensemen but will head back to the press box for Game 1 in the second round vs. Florida on Tuesday. The 31-year-old had seven goals, 35 assists, 122 SOG, 23 PIMs and a +9 plus/minus through 70 games between Toronto and Washington during the regular season.

      Zach Aston-Reese will draw back into the Maple Leafs' lineup for Game 1 vs. Florida.

      Reese was the odd man out of the Maple Leafs' lineup for the last two games of round one as the team elected to go with seven defensemen but will draw back into Toronto's lineup for Game 1 vs. Florida on Tuesday. The 28-year-old has a goal, three SOG, and a -2 plus/minus through five games so far in the 2022-23 playoffs.
