Pitlick cleared waivers on Wednesday and is expected to be returned to Hartford (AHL).

After playing five straight for the Rangers, Pitlick was a healthy scratch on Monday before being placed on waivers on Tuesday. Adam Edstrom replaced Pitlick in the lineup on Monday. In 34 games this season, Pitlick has four points (1G / 3A) while averaging 10:12 time-on-ice.

Shesterkin will start on Monday vs. Calgary.

The Rangers are rolling, riding a four-game winning streak, mostly without the help of Shesterkin, who served as the backup netminder in all but the most recent victory. That said, the former Vezina-winner will attempt to build off his most recent performance when he saved 28 of 31 shots (.903 SV%) in a 4-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks, his first quality start in his last five outings (2-2-1). The Rangers are -154 home favourites on Monday night against the Calgary Flames, who have outscored their opposition 15-6 during a four-game winning streak.

Shesterkin will start Friday vs. Chicago.

Shesterkin has not played since January 26th, including serving as the backup to Jonathan Quick in both games since the All-Star break. Shesterkin has struggled all season, including allowing three or more goals in three of his last four games (1-2-1), posting an ugly .846 SV%. The 28-year-old netminder will have a chance to redeem himself in a favourable matchup on Friday as the Rangers are sizeable -297 road favourites against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Trouba will return to the Rangers' lineup Wednesday vs. Tampa Bay after serving his two-game suspension.

Trouba will return to action on Wednesday after serving a two-game suspension. The veteran blueliner has been a multi-category force for the Rangers this season, highlighted by two points (0G / 2A), 11 shots, and nine hits in his last four games. Zac Jones will be a healthy scratch, allowing Trouba to re-enter the lineup.

Jones will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday vs. Tampa Bay.

With Jacob Trouba returning from a two-game suspension, Jones will be a healthy scratch for the Rangers on Wednesday. The 23-year-old Jones has been semi-productive from the blueline in limited action with the Rangers this season, scoring five points (1G / 4A) in 17 games.

Quick will start on Wednesday vs. Tampa Bay.

Quick will return to the crease for his third straight start on Wednesday. The veteran netminder was sensational on Monday night, saving 32 of 33 shots (.970 SV%) in a 2-1 overtime win over the typically high-scoring Colorado Avalanche. Quick has allowed two or fewer goals in his last three starts (2-1-0), posting a tremendous .944 SV%. Quick and the Rangers are -123 home favourites against another top-five offence on Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Lightning, averaging 3.48 goals per game.

New York has placed Nick Bonino on unconditional waivers for the purpose of contract termination.

The 35-year-old Bonino was averaging 12:15 time-on-ice this season and had been held off the scoresheet in 14 straight games. Assuming he goes unclaimed, the veteran forward will be a free agent after his contract is terminated by the Rangers.

Quick will start against the Avalanche on Monday.

Quick started the final game before the All-Star break for the Rangers and will return to the crease in their first game back on Monday evening. The consecutive starts likely correlate to Igor Shesterkin participating in the All-Star game, but even so, Quick has played well lately. In his last two outings (1-1-0), the 38-year-old Quick has 53 of 57 shots, posting a stellar .930 SV%. The Rangers are slight -115 home favourites against an Avalanche club riding a three-game winning streak.

Chytil (upper body) will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season after experiencing a recent setback.

Chytil scarily went down earlier in the week in the first skate upon his return from an upper-body injury and has announced through social media Sunday that he is going to miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season. The 24-year-old's announcement comes as a big disappointment after he produced a 22 goal, 45 point season as a 23-year-old in 2022-23.
