Sam Gagner is expected to be a healthy scratch vs. Winnipeg.

Gagner scored in the Oilers' win last game over Vegas but only played 7:23 TOI and will now be a healthy scratch as Zach Hyman (illness) returns to the lineup. The 34-year-old centre is in his 17th NHL season and has three goals, an assist, 20 SOG and two PIMs in nine games so far this season.

Stuart Skinner will start Thursday vs. Winnipeg.

Skinner will look for his fourth straight victory as he prepares to be the starting goalie for the Oilers on Thursday. His current stretch marks his second three-winning streak this season, and he has played significantly better as a whole, dating back to the firing of Jay Woodcroft and Jack Campbell being reassigned to the AHL. In his last three games, Skinner has saved 69 of 75 shots (.920 SV%). The Oilers are -114 road favourites against a Winnipeg Jets team that was shutout 2-0 by the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.

Zach Hyman (illness) will return to Edmonton's lineup Thursday vs. Winnipeg.

Hyman did not play on Tuesday due to illness. Evander Kane replaced him on the top powerplay unit, but Hyman will retake his rightful spot there when he returns to action on Thursday. Hyman has been tremendous lately, recording multi-point efforts in three consecutive games, totalling seven points (4G / 3A) and an outrageous 16 shots on goal.

Hyman (illness) will not play against the Golden Knights on Tuesday.

Hyman was a late scratch for Tuesday's game with Edmonton announcing his absence just 30 minutes before puck drop. It's a big loss for the Oilers, as Hyman has been particularly hot of late, racking up four goals and three assists in his last three games. His first chance to return to the lineup will be on Thursday in Winnipeg.

Stuart Skinner will start Tuesday vs. Vegas.

Skinner has remained inconsistent since the demotion of Jack Campbell but has had significantly more good than bad in recent games, including saving 46 of 48 shots (.958 SV%) over his last two games (2-0-0). Skinner and the Oilers are -145 home favourites against a Vegas Golden Knights team that has struggled lately and played last night, losing 2-1 in overtime to the Calgary Flames. Both teams are trending in opposite directions as the Golden Knights have lost four of their last five (1-2-2) while the Oilers have won two straight, outscoring their opposition by a whopping 13-2 margin.

Skinner will start Friday in Washington.

Skinner will look to rebound on Friday against the Washington Capitals after allowing four goals on 12 shots (.667 SV%) before being replaced by Calvin Pickard en route to a 6-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday. Skinner has allowed three or more goals in three consecutive games (1-2-0), posting an ugly .829 SV% after a two-game stretch (2-0-0) where he saved 49 of 51 shots (.961 SV%). The Capitals have won five straight but rank fourth-worst in the league offensively (2.56 GF / GP), and as such, the Oilers are -143 road favourites.

Mattias Janmark (shoulder) has been activated from the long-term injured reserve and is expected to play Wednesday.

Janmark has missed the Oilers' previous 10 games due to a shoulder injury but has been activated from the long-term injured reserve Wednesday and is expected to play vs. Carolina. The 30-year-old got off to a rough start in 2023-24 prior to his injury, as he had no points, seven SOG, and four PIMs in seven games.

Stuart Skinner will start Wednesday vs. Carolina.

Skinner served as the backup for the first time since Jack Campbell was demoted to Bakersfield (AHL) earlier this month as Calvin Pickard started for the Oilers but was unsuccessful, allowing four goals on 31 shots in a 5-3 loss to the Florida Panthers. In his last contest, Skinner allowed five goals on 23 shots (.783 SV%) in a 6-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning but was stellar in his three games prior (3-0-0), allowing only five goals on 86 shots (.942 SV%). The Oilers are +125 road underdogs on Wednesday against a Carolina Hurricanes team that is mid-pack in the league offensively (3.24 GF / GP) and defensively (3.18 GA / GP) and is fourth in the Metropolitan division with a 10-7-0 record.

Calvin Pickard will make his Oilers' debut on Monday vs. Florida.

Pickard has 116 NHL games under his belt but will receive his first start at the NHL level since the 2021-22 season when he was a member of the Detroit Red Wings. Jack Campbell's reassignment earlier this month triggered Pickard's call-up from Bakersfield (AHL), where he posted a sensational 2.03 GAA and .939 SV% in four games (2-2-0). Pickard will have his work cut out for him in his return to NHL action as the Oilers face off against a Florida Panthers team that has won six of their past seven contests (6-1-0).

Stuart Skinner will start Saturday in Tampa Bay.

Skinner will look for his fourth consecutive win Saturday after he beat Seattle stopping 32 of 25 shots (.914 SV%) in his previous start. The 25-year-old was an All-Star last season but has struggled out of the gate in 2023-24, with his 4-5-1 record, 3.23 GAA, and .880 SV%. He will face Tampa Bay on the road Saturday, who broke a three-game losing streak with a victory their last time out and are 12th in the NHL in goals per game (3.35).

Connor Brown (undisclosed) will return after a six-game absence Saturday vs. Tampa Bay.

In Brown's four games before his injury, he was averaging 2.25 shots per game, a vast improvement over the 0.80 he was averaging in the five games prior, and perhaps a sign that he is re-finding his game. Brown, who has yet to record a point through nine games this season, skated at practice alongside Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins at practice on Friday.
