Karlstrom failed to pick a point through five NHL games in 2022-23 but had 10 goals, 16 assists, 16 PIMs and a +4 plus/minus through 47 games with the Texas Stars (AHL) and signed a one-year, two-way contract extension through the 2023-24 season Tuesday. The 25-year-old was Dallas' 2016 third-round pick (90th overall).

Dadonov left Game 3 vs. Vegas after just 2:52 TOI due to a lower-body injury and did not play in Game 4 and is now expected to miss at least Game 5 as he did not travel with Dallas to Vegas. Olofsson is set to make his 2022-23 playoff debut as he replaces the suspended Dallas' Captain in Jamie Benn for Game 4 vs. Vegas. The 26-year-old has yet to see any time in the playoffs but had a goal, three assists, 34 SOG, and two PIMs across 28 games played this season. Olofsson skated on the Stars' fourth line for their morning skate and is expected to draw into the lineup on the left-wing for Game 4.

Gardner had 10 goals, 30 assists, 75 PIMs and a +26 plus/minus through 71 games with Texas (AHL) during the regular season and has been recalled to Dallas for the first time prior to Game 4 vs. Vegas. The 27-year-old right-winger is not expected to suit up but is joining the roster with the recent loss of Jamie Benn (suspension) and Evgenii Dadanov (LBI injury).

Bourque had 20 goals, 27 assists, and 18 PIMs through 70 games with Texas (AHL) this season and has been recalled to Dallas for the first time ahead of Game 4. Bourque has a chance to dress as the Stars are without Jamie Benn (suspension) and Evgenii Dadonov (LBI injury), but Dallas has stated they will be keeping their lineup a secret until game-time. The 21-year-old has never played a game in the NHL.

Benn was ejected and received a match penalty after playing just 0:42 TOI for cross-check on Vegas' Mark Stone during Game 3 and will be suspended for the next two games. The 33-year-old Stars' captain had been enjoying a solid post season to date, with three goals, eight assists, 36 SOG, 51 PIMs and a +1 plus/minus through 16 games.

Oettinger was pulled after allowing three goals on five shots (.400 SV%) in seven minutes in a horrific Game 3 loss as Vegas took a 3-0 series lead with an easy victory over Dallas. The 24-year-old has struggled throughout the playoffs despite having a strong regular season, with his 8-8-0 record, 3.02 GAA and .895 SV%. He will hope to get things back on track and keep the Stars alive with a Victory in Game 4 vs Vegas, who closed out the regular season 14th in the NHL in goals per game (3.26).
