He played 18:36 time-on-ice in the Golden Knights 3-0 loss at the hands of the Seattle Kraken at the Winter Classic on Monday. Karlsson was previously occupying the center-ice position on the third line between Paul Cotter and Michael Amadio.

Karlsson has missed just two games over the last four and a half years and has never missed a game in a Vegas uniform until tonight. Karlsson will miss at least a couple of weeks and Paul Stastny is the most likely candidate to move into the top-6.
