      Thomas Greiss has retired from the NHL after a 14-year career.

      Greiss called it a career Wednesday as he announced through the Blues' social media account that the goaltender would be retiring after a solid 14-year NHL career. The 37-year-old was 7-10-0 with a .896 SV% and 3.58 GAA in 2022-23 as St.Louis backup. He ends his career with a 162-130-37 record, .911 SV% and 2.77 GAA.

      Greiss has struggled this season, with his 7-10-0 record with his 3.64 GAA and .898 SV% and is not considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury as he is banged up. Vadim Zherenko has been recalled on an emergency basis in the meantime to replace the injured 37-year-old Greiss.

The Blues backup has been up and down this season, with his .906 SV%, 3.63 GAAa and 3-3-0 record.
