The 31-year-old left-winger carries a cap hit of $3,250,000 into the 2023-24 season and has 133 goals and 272 points across 590 career games for three different organizations (LAK, PIT, VAN).

Pearson suffered a hand injury in Wednesday's game vs. the Canadiens and required surgery on Thursday. He'll miss at least one month, so don't expect to see Pearson in the Canucks' lineup until mid-to-late December.

Pearson left Thursday's game in Arizona with an upper-body injury and did not return. Post-game, head coach Bruce Boudreau said "hopefully just day-to-day," and hopes he'll be able to play Saturday.

Pearson has missed the last four games while in COVID-19 protocol but will play Tuesday in Nashville. It's unclear who Pearson will replace but he should be back in the Canucks' top-6. He's scored seven goals with 11 assists (18 points) in 41 games this season.

Pearson got off to a nice start in Pittsburgh but dropped down the depth chart after they added Nick Bjugstad and Jared McCann. Overall, Pearson has nine goals and six assists (15 points) in 61 games between the Kings and Penguins. He has a much better chance to play in the Canucks top-6 and could slot onto the top line with Bo Horvat right away.

Pearson has recorded back-to-back 40-plus point seasons, but has struggled in the first 17 games of the season. Pearson has just one assist and 24 shots this season and carries a 49.1 CorsiFor%. With Hagelin going back the other way, that opens the door for Pearson to play on a line with Evgeni Malkin. Pearson is in the second year of a four-year contract that carries a $3.75M AAV cap-hit.

Pearson has served his four-game suspension (two preseason games, two regular season games) and is set to return to the lineup on Tuesday. The Kings are very thin upfront, so Pearson’s return is huge for their top-6. He had 15 goals and 21 assists (36 points) last year and should build off of that this season. Teddy Purcell will sit with Pearson coming back into the fold.

Pearson was suspended for the final two games of the preseason and the first two games of the regular season for his hit on Oilers’ defenseman Brandon Davidson. Pearson is set to be a key member of the Kings’ top-6, but they will be without him for the first two games.

Pearson is eligible to play in tonight’s game against the Minnesota Wild, he took shifts alongside Colin Fraser with a rotating right wing during line rushes, which could be an indication that he won’t play. Pearson has recorded one goal and a minus-1 rating in six games with the Kings this season. He is third in points with Manchester having totalled 25 points (13G / 12A) in 30 games.

Pearson, 21, made his NHL debut in Game 3 of the second round series between Los Angeles and San Jose and appears to be capable of providing value to the Kings, who selected him with the final pick of the first round of the 2012 NHL Draft.
