Carolina has signed Sebastian Aho to an eight-year, $78 million extension ($9,750,000 AAV).
Aho reached 36+ goals for third time in the last four years in 2022-23 as he picked up 36 goals, 31 assists, 218 SOG, 42 PIMs and a +8 plus/minus through 75 games played and has now signed an eight-year, $78 million extension ($9,750,000 AAV). The 26-year-old centre has spent the first seven seasons of his career in Carolina after being drafted in the 2nd round of the 2015 NHL Draft (35th overall) and has 218 goals, 468 points and a +80 plus/minus through 520 career NHL games.

Sebastian Aho will play Friday vs. Philadelphia (lower body).
Aho has missed the Hurricane's last seven games due to a lower-body injury but play Friday after being a game-time decision as they take on the Flyers. If Aho does return, it will be massive for Carolina, as he had 11 goals, 27 points, 7 SOG, 18 PIMS and a +2 plus/minus through 26 games prior to the injury.

Aho (lower-body) will not play Tuesday in Detroit.
Aho remains day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will not be available for a second straight game. His next chance to return is Thursday vs. the Kraken on home-ice. Look for Paul Stastny to remain in the top-6 while Aho is out.

Sebastian Aho is day-to-day and will not play Saturday vs. the Islanders.

Aho has been placed on the COVID-19 protocol list.
Aho was a late scratch on Sunday with what was called a non-COVID illness. He must have tested positive on Monday, leading to him being placed on the protocol list and being left behind in Vancouver. Seth Jarvis was also placed on the protocol list.

The Hurricanes will match Montreal’s offer sheet and sign Sebastian Aho to a five-year, $42.27M contract extension ($8.454M AAV).

Aho (lower-body/concussion) will return to the Hurricanes lineup on Tuesday.
Aho has missed the last four games with a lower-body issue and concussion, but practiced on Monday and skated with Jordan Staal and Elias Lindholm in today’s gameday skate. Aho brings 16 goals and 21 assists (37 points) in 45 games to the Hurricanes lineup vs. the Senators.

Aho was back at practice on Monday and may be cleared to play Tuesday after missing the last four games with a lower-body injury and concussion. Aho’s return will be huge for the Hurricanes as he comes in second on the team in points (37).

Aho had to be helped off of the ice during Sunday’s loss to the Flames.
Aho was hit in the head and the knee on a dangerous hit by Mark Giordano, that resulted in a match penalty for the defenseman. Aho was favoring his left leg as he was helped off of the ice, but luckily for the Hurricanes’ leading scorer, they have the next five days off with a bye week. Monitor Aho’s status heading into Saturday’s game in Detroit.

Aho was hurt over the weekend but practiced on Monday and took part in today’s morning skate. Head coach Bill Peters said that Aho “should be good to go” so look for the talented second-year forward to play in Tampa Bay. Aho has six goals and four assists (10 points) in his last seven games.

The Hurricanes called Aho day-to-day with a lower-body injury after he left Saturday’s game in Boston early. However, Aho was back on the ice on Monday morning in a full capacity and it looks like he should be good-to-go for the Hurricanes game in Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
