Max Pacioretty (Achilles) is not skating to start training camp and has no timetable for his return.
Pacioretty was forced to miss 77 games in 2022-23 due to injuries and has yet to start skating as the Capitals opened training camp Thursday. The 34-year-old left-winger signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Capitals in the offseason and has no timetable for his return. He had three goals, 16 SOG, and two PIMs across five games played during his only season in Carolina in 2022-23.

Pacioretty was only able to play in five games in 2022-23 after missing majority of the season with a torn Achilles but still had three goals and 16 SOG with Carolina last season and has now signed a one-year deal worth $2 Million with the Washington Capitals. The 34-year-old left-winger will be looking to prove he can still play in the NHL after only playing in 44 total games since 2021 due to injury. He currently sits on 326 goals and 319 assists through 855 career NHL games played.
Pacioretty is out indefinitely with a torn Achilles.
Pacioretty tore his Achilles in the period of the Hurricanes' win over the Wild on Thursday. This is the exact same injury that he suffered in August and kept Pacioretty out long-term, and will do so again. If his rehab goes well, there's a chance he's ready for training camp in 2023-24.
Max Pacioretty has been placed on the injury reserve and will miss Saturday's game vs. the New York Islanders (lower-body).
Pacioretty left the Hurricane's game vs. Minnesota after 16:38 TOI on a non-contact play and will be out indefinitely as he deals with a lower-body injury after being placed on the injured reserve Friday. It is a terrible break for the six-time 30-goal scorer, as he had just returned from offseason Achilles surgery and had three goals in his first five games.
Max Pacioretty will return to the Hurricanes' lineup Thursday vs. Minnesota (lower body).
Pacioretty (lower-body) is expected to miss at least two games.
Pacioretty left Thursday's game with a lower-body injury that is unrelated to his previous Achilles injury and will not return.

Pacioretty (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision on Saturday.
Pacioretty has missed the last 12 games but he could be back in the lineup vs. the Coyotes on Saturday. Pacioretty skated on the third line with Chandler Stephenson and Mattias Janmark on Friday, a good sign for his availability against the league's worst team. Pacioretty will provide a huge boost for the Golden Knights down the stretch and they need it. They start Saturday two points behind the Dallas Stars for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference, and the Stars have two games in hand.
