MacEachern failed to make a regular season appearce with Carolina during the regular season in 2022-23 but appeared in eight games in the playoffs, picking up a goal and an assist to go along with six PIMs leading to him signing a two-year contract worth $1.55 million ($775K AAV) with St. Louis. The 29-year-old left-winger returns to St.Louis, where he picked up 11 goals and 19 points through 115 games played with the Blues between 2018 to 2022.

MacEachern had 11 goals, 19 assists, 12 PIMs and a +8 plus/minus through 37 games with the Chicago Wolves (AHL) and has been recalled to Carolina on Thursday. The call-up comes on the news that Teavu Teravainen has a broken hand and will be out for the remainder of the playoffs.

The Hurricanes have signed Mackenzie MacEachern to a one-year, two-way contract.
MacEachern played four years with the Blues, scoring 11 goals with eight assists (19 points) in 111 games. He played most of 2022 in the AHL, tallying 25 points (12G / 13A) in 47 games with Springfield. In Carolina, he'll likely be a fringe roster player again and could start the season in the AHL.

MacEachern (upper-body) will miss at least the next two games.
MacEachern suffered an upper-body injury vs. the Wild on Friday, missed Saturday's game and will not travel on the Blues' two-game road trip. Jordan Kyrou replaced him on Saturday and will obviously remain in the lineup on Tuesday.

MacEachern was originally sent to the taxi squad to the Blues could become cap compliant but was able to be recalled Wednesday because Vladimir Tarasenko was moved to LTIR. MacEachern had 10 points (7G / 3A) in 51 games a season ago.

MacEachern is expected to come out of the Blues lineup in Game 5.

The Blues have signed Mackenzie MacEachern to a two-year extension worth $1.8 million ($900K AAV).
After splitting the 2018-19 campaign between the NHL and AHL, MacEachern spent the entire 2019-20 season (until it was paused) with the Blues, scoring seven goals with three assists (10 points) in 50 games. The 26-year-old, former third-round pick now has 10 goals and five assists (15 points) in 79 career NHL games and will now be a fixture in St. Louis' bottom-6 for at least the next few seasons.

MacEachern will be back in the Blues lineup on Saturday.
