J.T. Miller did not make the team trip to Dallas and is considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.

Miller has 20 goals, 34 assists, 163 SOG, 42 PIMs and a -15 plus/minus through 59 games with the Canucks this season but will miss Monday's contest vs. Dallas due to an undisclosed injury. Miller's name has been floating around in trade rumours as of late but this seems to just be an injury.

Miller (COVID-19) returned to practice on Sunday; could make his season debut on Monday.

Miller missed the first three games of the season in COVID-19 protocol but is expected to play Monday in Calgary. Miller was removed from the COVID list and will presumably re-claim his spot on the Canucks’ top line with Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser on Monday. Miller is coming off of a caerer-high 72 points (27G / 45A) in 69 games a season ago.

Miller is not expected to play in the season opener in Edmonton.

According to Canucks GM Jim Benning Miller is no "available to us" and that there would be more information released on Wednesday. Speculation is that Miller has either tested positive or was in close contact with a positive COVID-19 test and that will keep him out for at least the first game of the season. With Miller absent from Tuesday's practice, Jake Virtanen was moved to the top line with Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser.

The Canucks acquired J.T. Miller from the Lightning for a conditional 2020 first-round pick, a 2019 third-round pick and Marek Mazanec.

The Lightning needed to clear some cap-space with Brayden Point and others set to become RFA’s on July 1st, so they move Miller and his $5.25M cap-hit. After scoring 10 goals in his first 19 games following his trade to Tampa Bay, Miller recorded just 13 goals with 34 assists (47 points) in 75 games in his first full season with the Lightning. He was stuck in a bottom-6 role with Tampa but should be in the top-6 with the Canucks.

The Lightning have acquired J.T. Miller and Ryan McDonagh from the Rangers for Vladislav Namestnikov, Libor Hajek, Brett Howden, 2018 1st Round Pick and a conditional 2nd Round Pick.

Miller basically replaces Vladislav Namestnikov in the Lightning lineup, but may not see the first line ice-time that Namestnikov was playing. Miller brings a solid amount of offence to the table as well, having picked up 13 goals and 27 assists (40 points) in 63 games with the Rangers. He should play a very similar, middle-6 role with some PP time as he did in New York.

Miller (knee) missed Monday’s practice; questionable for Tuesday’s game.

Miller had to get stitches on his knee after being hit by a Mats Zuccerello shot on Sunday. Rangers’ head coach Alain Vigneault said it is a 50/50 chance that Miller will be in the lineup on Tuesday. If he can’t play, Oscar Lindberg will get back into the lineup.

The Rangers signed J.T. Miller to a two-year extension on July 13th.

Miller, 23, was the 15th overall pick in 2011 and his breakout season was long awaited. Miller finally broke through in 2015-16 after posting just 33 points (15G / 18A) in 114 games over his first three seasons. Miller scored 22 goals with 21 assists (43 points) last season and figures to take steps forward as a member of the Rangers’ top-6 in 2016-17.

Miller was promoted to the Rangers second line on Wednesday.

With Derek Stepan sidelined with an upper-body injury, Miller skated between Chris Kreider and Martin St. Louis in Wednesday’s practice. Miller played well while Derick Brassard was out, so the move back into the top-6 should spark Miller’s production. He has four assists in his last five games.
