Savard will be out indefinitely after suffering an upper-body injury in the Canadiens' Monday night matchup against the Buffalo Sabres. Savard has two points (0G / 2A), four hits, and 14 blocks in five games this season. Gustav Lindstrom was recalled on an emergency basis and will be an option to replace Savard on defence.

Savard has missed the last 13 games with an upper-body injury but will play Tuesday in Nashville. Savard, who had eight points (1G / 7A) and a minus-4 rating in 24 games before getting hurt, is expected to replace Chris Wideman in the lineup and skate on a pairing with Jordan Harris.

The Lightning are making a habit of picking up big, rugged players at the trade deadline. Tampa Bay has been relying on Luke Schenn, Cal Foot and Ben Thomas as their sixth defenseman but that spot now belongs to Savard. He will likely skate with either Ryan McDonagh or Mikhail Sergachev at 5v5.
