Harpur could potentially be a third-pairing defenseman for Toronto in 2020 but they have a number of young defensemen in the pipelines who will be looking to push Harpur out.
Harpur (illness) will not play on Wednesday.
Harpur will be scratched in New York and Christian Wolanin was recalled from Belleville (AHL) to replace him in the lineup.

Harpur has missed the last four games with an upper-body injury but will replace Mark Borowiecki in the lineup on Saturday. Harpur has just one goal and one assist in 24 games this season.
Harpur is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
Harpur suffered an upper-body injury late in Wednesday’s game in Anaheim and will be replaced by Christian Wolanin on Thursday.
Harpur (back) is expected to return to the Senators lineup on Friday.
Harpur has been out with a back injury since October 20th, but is expected to play Saturday in Dallas. Harpur was a full-participant in Thursday’s practice and is expected to either replace Christan Jaros or sever as the seventh defenseman on Friday.

Harpur has not be in the lineup for the last three games but he will draw back in tonight in Tampa Bay. Harpur has collected just one assist in 12 games with the Senators this season.
