The Hurricanes signed Antti Raanta to a one-year deal worth $1.5 million.
Raanta has battled injuries over the last three seasons but has posted a strong 2.34 GAA and .911 SV% in 55 games. Raanta will pair with Pyotr Kochetkov as the Hurricanes' goaltending tandem and gives them and incredibly cheap duo in the crease.

Raanta was perfect in his previous start, stopping 14 of 14 shots for his fourth shutout of the season as he blanked Montreal Canadiens in his previous start. The 33-year-old has been very solid when given the call this season, with his 17-2-3 record, 2.22 GAA and .910 SV%. He takes on the Ottawa Senators, who are in the middle of a two-game losing streak and are eighth in the NHL in shots per game (33.2).

Raanta will start Saturday in Montreal.

Antti Raanta was a full participant in practice Wednesday (lower-body).
Raanta last played on March 7th, where he only lasted a period before heading off due to a lower-body injury. With the Hurricanes assigning Pyotr Kotchetkov to the minors Wednesday, it is a sign that the 33-year-old is ready to back up Frederik Andersen yet again. He will look to build off his 16-2-3 record, 2.32 GAA and .907 SV%.

Raanta (undisclosed) is not expected to be available for Thursday's game.
Raanta suffered an undisclosed injury in the first period of Tuesday's game in Montreal. The Hurricanes recalled Pyotr Kochetkov from Charlotte (AHL), so don't expect Raanta to be available vs. the Flyers.
